Turkmen State Institute of Finance announced winners of the II International Olympiad on IFRS
The Turkmen State Institute of Finance has announced the winners of the II Open International Online Olympiad in the subject “International Financial Reporting Standards”, held by the institute among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries.
The Olympiad took place on December 17 in the form of individual competitions. More than 200 students from 53 universities in 9 countries took part, including Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
From foreign countries, 126 students representing 33 universities participated. Of these, 69 students won prize places—13 first places, 27 second places, and 29 third places.
Seventy-seven participants represented 20 universities of Turkmenistan. Among the winners were 14 Turkmen students, who won 2 first places, 3 second places, and 9 third places.
The Olympiad was conducted in the Turkmen, Russian, and English languages. Each university was represented by four students. Participants were offered highly challenging tasks in the discipline “International Financial Reporting Standards”, for which two hours were allotted.
As noted by the organizing committee of the Olympiad, the students were able to vividly demonstrate to the jury not only a high level of professional training and financial literacy, but also mastery of innovative methods for solving complex experimental tasks.
Overall, the international intellectual competition on IFRS demonstrated strong interest among young people in the subject and contributed to identifying the most capable and talented young individuals in this field of knowledge. It also promoted the strengthening of friendly relations and the exchange of valuable experience between students and faculty of Turkmen and foreign universities.
The organizers particularly emphasized that the Olympiad gave a powerful impetus to the development of inter-university partnership, which is extremely important for the implementation of state programs aimed primarily at bringing the national system of science and education to a qualitatively new level.
