MUNG BEAN IS BEING HARVESTED

Mung bean is being harvested in the north of Turkmenistan. This year, it has been massively planted again in the region as a re-crop after winter wheat. Now the legumes harvested from the fields are delivered to the reception points of the production association "Daşoguzgallaönümleri". Kunyaurgench etrap is among the leaders of the harvesting campaign, where this year the crop is placed on 550 hectares. Most of all other etraps of the region intend to harvest mung bean in the etrap of S. Turkmenbashi, where an annual herb of the legume family was planted on an area of 700 hectares. The mung bean harvested from the fields undergoes rigorous testing in laboratories for quality parameters. The farmers of the Dashoguz velayat intend, like last year, to harvest at least 15 centners of the harvest from each hectare.

It should be noted that in the northern region of the country in recent years, much more attention has been paid to leguminous plants that economically consume water and contribute to an increase in soil fertility, the growing season of which allows them to be used as intermediate crops. So, in addition to mung bean, here again on two and a half hundred hectares were planted drought-resistant and disease-resistant beans, after planting which, according to experts, the soil is enriched with nitrogen.

The increase in the scale of production of legumes corresponds to the tasks set for the domestic agro-industrial complex to increase the production of various crops and provide the population with high-quality local food products.
