Students from Turkmenistan are the winners of the International Competition. F.F. Martens

A team of students from the International University for the Humanities and Development won first place in the 23rd International Competition. F.F. Martens on international humanitarian law. The competition was held by the International Committee of the Red Cross in the capital of the Russian Federation - Moscow in the first ten days of October.
The student team of MUGNIR, which became the winner of the competition, included students of the Faculty of International Law and International Relations - Novruz Nurberdiyev (3rd year), Dovlet Gurbanov (4th year) and Zohre Geldiyeva (4th year).
The best team of participants from Turkmenistan was awarded the F.F. Martens, as well as diplomas for the first place in the competition.
Students of law faculties of higher educational institutions from different countries took part in the competition on international humanitarian law. In general, 21 student teams from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Russia and Belarus performed at the competition site.
The competition has been held since 1997 and bears the name of Fyodor Fedorovich Martens, the author of the Martens Clause, a Russian lawyer, diplomat and one of the founders of the Russian school of international law, who formulated one of the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
The competition is an event during which students gain skills in applying international humanitarian law in simulated situations that are close to real. The jury determines the best team of contestants, taking into account the knowledge of international humanitarian law, the ability of the team to argue their statements and respond to the situation.
