The President of Turkmenistan outlined the vectors of the country's foreign policy strategy

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, following the results of 2022, outlined the vectors of the country's foreign policy strategy.

According to the head of state, the international authority of neutral Turkmenistan is consistently growing, for which 2022 is significant for the 30th anniversary of membership in the UN. The President of Turkmenistan noted that from the very beginning, partnership with the UN acquired a strategic character, Turkmenistan was repeatedly elected vice-chairman of the sessions of the General Assembly, a member of the structural divisions of this Organization - councils, committees and commissions.

«If we talk about our diplomatic achievements, the General Assembly adopted the Resolutions initiated by us «2023 - the International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace» and «Central Asia - a zone of peace, trust and cooperation», as well as a proposal to declare 2025 the Year of Peace and trust», the head of state emphasized.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov remined that last year the theme of partnership in Central Asia and the Caspian was given special attention: strengthening regional ties across the entire spectrum of cooperation, consolidating the efforts of the countries of the region for the sake of harmonious development and strengthening the position of the entire region in the international dimension became the main goals of the meetings at highest level.

The head of state also emphasized that in 2022, at the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag, a special impetus was given to the parliamentary diplomacy of Turkmenistan, which is a systemic part of the work carried out by the authorities to protect national interests, expand international partnerships and ensure law and order, which is also associated with the promotion of economic interests country and the formation of a favourable environment for it in the international arena.

«We will continue the policy of constructive dialogue, we will make every effort to defend the interests of our state and people», the President of Turkmenistan said at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
