Classical Turkmen music melted hearts in Yerevan

On 12 March 2024, in the concert hall after Arno Babajanyan, an anniversary concert of classical and folk music dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi took place.

 The concert was attended by the heads and employees of foreign embassies and consulates accredited in Armenia, employees of international organizations, prominent figures of science, culture and art of Armenia.

 At the opening of the concert the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov and the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan addressed the audience with welcoming speeches.

 Ambassador M. Ayazov thanked the guests and said that the famous master of art and culture of Turkmenistan will brighten up the evening with their performances of Turkmen classical and folk music and singing.

 A. Martirosyan mentioned about the high level of bilateral cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational and sports fields between the two countries and expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen side for organizing such events on a regular basis.

 The string quartet “Ashgabat Camerata” as well as famous singers Begench Moshiev and Maya Orazberdieva performed songs to the poems written by Magtymguly Fragi, talented poets of the 20th century Gurbannazar Ezizov, Keyik Artykova, and famous composers Nury Halmammedov, Veli Muhatov, Hydyr Allanurov, Aman Agajikov, Komitas, Arno Babajanyan and others. The amazing sounds of dutar were also performed by Toyly Orazov in the concert hall.

The delighted audience gave a standing ovation to the song “DOSTLUK AYDYMY” that concluded the concert programmme.
