A PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "NEUTRAL TURKMENISTAN" OF THE RESPECTED PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN

On February 26, 2016 in the conference hall of the Yerevan State University, Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia together with Yerevan State University and the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly made a presentation of a new book by the distinguished President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Neutral Turkmenistan", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the country gained its status of permanent neutrality.

The ceremony was attended by the delegation of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Armenia, heads of diplomatic missions and diplomats accredited in Armenia, faculty and students of YSU, Turkmen students from other universities, as well as representatives from academia and the media of Armenia.

All the speakers noted that the new work, released from the pen of the Turkmen leader and addressed to a wide readership - "Neutral Turkmenistan", which is a chronicle of Turkmen neutrality, in thinking about the positive fact that the Turkmen leader emphasizes the crucial importance of this unprecedented international legal status to achieve impressive progress in economic, social, spiritual and cultural life of the Turkmen society in the international arena.

The book contains the texts of major historical documents related to the status of neutrality adopted at the international and national level. Among them are the Resolution of the UN General Assembly "On the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan," the Turkmen Constitution, legislative acts.

The pages of the new book contain also the statements of the heads of a number of states, heads of major international organizations, including UN Secretaries General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon about the place and the role of the neutral status of the Turkmen state in modern geopolitics, which were voiced by them during the meetings with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

 The book is rounding out by the second Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations "Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan" adopted in June 2015, and the speech of the President of Turkmenistan at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
