Today starts the working visit of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation where he will take part in the work of the annual XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.

The participation of Turkmenistan in this Forum is considered by our country within the context of comprehensive collaboration agenda with the Russian Federation and the Islamic world, development of long-term partnership ties in politics, economy, trade, cultural and humanitarian field. 

An important aspect of this process is collaboration with the regions of the Russian Federation, among which the Republic of Tatarstan holds a special place, due to its powerful resource and industrial potential, as well as historical ties between the two fraternal peoples.

In recent times, relations between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan have received an additional powerful impetus, taking them to a new level.

Cooperation with enterprises and companies of Tatarstan in the economy, trade, and transport is developing effectively. Significant prospects are being opened in the agricultural, food, and processing industries. Relations in the educational, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian spheres are consistently expanding.

Nowadays, the multifaceted and effective relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan serve as a significant constituent of strengthening the deep strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.

It is therefore reasonable that during the visit to Kazan of the National Leader of Turkmen people, his contacts with the leadership of Russia and meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Russian government are scheduled.

It should be noted that the representative presence of Turkmenistan at the Kazan Forum every year stimulates greater interest to our country among its participants. This serves as a proof of the steady reinforcement of Turkmenistan’s standing in the Islamic world, recognition of its constructive and innovative role in the activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.This is particularly evidenced by the high assessment of the initiatives and proposals put forward by Turkmenistan within the framework of the specialized structures – the Islamic Development Bank and the Islamic Organization for Food Security. Turkmenistan is ready to share its considerable and positive working experience in these structures with partners, including through the Kazan Forum platform.

Within its framework, the annual international exhibition of the halal industry “Russia Halal Expo 2025” is being held. As always, this year the national exposition of Turkmenistan is represented comprehensively, being one of the most representative, which obtains a legitimate interest of participants and visitors. It displays a wide range of products made by Turkmen manufacturers representing various sectors of national industry and agriculture. According to experts, Turkmen products are of very high quality and meet the best world standards. It is natural that in recent years there has been a stable growth of Turkmen exports to Russia. It is evident that the success of Turkmen exposition in Kazan enlarges the prospects for expanding cooperation and establishing business and partnership ties with other countries.

The visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the National Leader of Turkmen people to Kazan, the forthcoming meetings and contacts are expected to be an important occasion for development and deepening of Turkmen-Russian interstate cooperation, as well as significantly strengthen the ties of our country with the states of the Islamic world, create new conditions and prerequisites for a respectful, constructive and mutually beneficial partnership.
