The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania has been accredited in Turkmenistan

On May 15, 2025, on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Turkmenistan Kęstutis Vaškelevičius.

On behalf of the head of the Turkmen state, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening interstate relations.

The Plenipotentiary Representative of the friendly country, in turn, conveyed warm greetings from the highest leadership of the Republic of Lithuania to the President ​​Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Ambassador also noted that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, which is recognized as a peacekeeping center in the region and advocates for the establishment of positive and effective ties for the common good.

During the meeting, the diplomat was informed about the policy pursued by our state, aimed at developing equal, mutually beneficial cooperation with interested countries.

The diplomat was also familiarized with the structure and multilateral activities of the Mejlis on legislative and legal support for the fundamental reforms being implemented in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Lithuania in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the framework of authoritative international organizations.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Kęstutis Vaškelevičius assured that he would make every effort to expand the interstate dialogue based on friendship, mutual respect and trust.
