Turkmen-Iranian interparliamentary ties discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On May 16, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the Iranian delegation who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit headed by the Chairman of the Iran-Turkmen Interparliamentary Friendship Group Abdoljalal Iri.

During the talks, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the sides discussed current fields of bilateral cooperation, including inter-parliamentary relations, energy, transport, trade, culture and education.

The participants emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary relations. It was noted that the inter-parliamentary Friendship Group is successfully working in this direction. In this regard, the upcoming events in this regard were considered.

At the end of the talks, the parties stated that there is significant potential for furthering Turkmen-Iranian relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
