Cotton growers of Lebap velayat, who have accumulated considerable experience in cultivating rich cotton yields — one of Turkmenistan’s main national treasures — intend once again this year to gather a plentiful harvest of the “white gold.” The widespread opening of cotton bolls in the cotton fields indicates that the meticulous labor of the farmers is yielding good results. Having sown cotton on 130,000 hectares and aiming for a high yield, the velayat’s farmers are completing preparatory work for the crucial season — the cotton harvest.

Currently, 38 cotton collection points and 11 cotton-cleaning enterprises in the velayat are fully prepared for the start of the season. Electronic scales, verified by specialists from the state standards service, have been installed at all facilities to ensure accurate and uninterrupted acceptance of the harvest. It should be noted that the largest cotton-cleaning enterprise of the velayat — the plant in the village of Garabekewul in Sayat etrap, designed to process up to 40,000 tons of cotton annually — is also completely ready for the season.

All equipment intended for cotton reception has undergone technical inspection and brought to full readiness. The production association “Lebapobahyzmat” and its district units have conducted technical checks on high-performance cotton harvesting combines and prepared them for the harvest season. Preparation of trucks, tractors, and trailers designated for transporting cotton from the fields to receiving and processing points has also been completed. Special attention is paid to compliance with technical and fire safety standards during this period of intensive work. Organizational measures carried out in advance of the critical season strengthen confidence that the farmers of the velayat will harvest the grown rich cotton yield on time, without losses, and achieve the set goals.
