The multifunctional sea terminal of Turkmenistan is ready to expand the geography of cooperation

Speaking at the SCO+ Summit, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew the attention of the heads of the Organisation's member states to the extensive capabilities of the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port and readiness for a practical dialogue on the use of this multifunctional terminal in the interests of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled that during the III UN Conference for Landlocked Developing Countries, which was successfully held in Turkmenistan, the importance of the Caspian Sea as a profitable shortest route was discussed in detail and expressed hope that this topic would be continued in this format of communication.

In the same direction, touching upon the important issue of maritime transportation, the President of Turkmenistan initiated cooperation in shipbuilding.

The head of the Turkmen state noted that many SCO countries have serious production capacities and extensive experience in this area. Turkmenistan is also actively developing national shipbuilding and partnership in this industry can bring tangible mutual benefits, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.
