Turkmenistan sees great prospects in the development of the International "North–South" Transport Corridor (INSTC), which runs along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the second "Central Asia – Russia" Summit held on October 9 in Dushanbe.

"Today, the transport component is gaining particular importance. The goal of joint efforts in this sector is to establish a reliable, sustainable, and efficient logistics system that runs through the territories of the Central Asian states and Russia. Turkmenistan sees great prospects in forming the International North–South Transport Corridor along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea. This corridor is valuable in itself and brings substantial benefits to all participants," said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The head of Turkmenistan emphasized that the corridor is viewed as part of a larger Eurasian transport project and particularly highlighted the importance of the Caspian transport and logistics hub in establishing direct connectivity between Central Asian countries and Russia across the Caspian Sea.

In the same context, the President of Turkmenistan called on the Summit participants to engage in a concrete discussion on utilizing the vast capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
