The national team, consisting of students from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan — Orazberdiyev Gadyr and Kerimkulyyeva Selbi — under the supervision of university instructor Ogulnur Rozyyeva, achieved great success at the international scientific competition “World Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA 2025),” which took place in the city of Surabaya (Indonesia) from October 14 to 17.

The students from Turkmenistan presented a scientific project titled “In Silico and AI Driven Design of Novel Inhibitors Against the 23S Gene of Clarithromycin-Resistant Helicobacter pylori.”

In their research project, the young scientists used artificial intelligence and computer modeling methods to study the creation of new forms of drugs targeting Helicobacter pylori — a bacterium that causes gastrointestinal diseases.

The scientific project of our students received high praise at the international level and was awarded a gold medal and the “Semi Grand Award”.

Such a brilliant result in a major international competition was achieved by the students from Turkmenistan despite the highly competitive environment, which included top teams of young scientists from around the world. Participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkiye, South Korea, Japan, China, India, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Iran, and other countries presented their scientific projects at this prestigious event.
