At the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent on 16 November, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated the high importance of expanding the electricity sector and establishing a powerful, multifunctional network in the region.

Turning to the agenda of strengthening energy partnership, the head of state noted that Turkmenistan is ready to discuss further concrete steps not only within the framework of implementing pipeline projects but also in expanding cooperation in the electricity sector.

“Today we speak about the importance of expanding the electricity segment and creating in our region and around its perimeter a powerful network for the production, supply, and consumption of electricity. This will create a reliable material foundation for the stability of the entire power-supply system and ensure protection from the possible impact of negative external factors,” emphasized the President of Turkmenistan.
