An event dedicated to World children's day

Today, the Turkmen capital hosted the event «Neutrality and humanism: comprehensive support for an inclusive future» to mark World children's day. This forum, of international significance, addressed the development of the younger generation in our country as a priority area of state policy, the intensification of international cooperation in this area, and the use of advanced global practices.

As a result of the successful implementation of the humane policy initiated by Hero-Arkadag and now continued under the wise leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, our country is devoting considerable attention to the comprehensive upbringing and education of the younger generation. This is reflected in the issues discussed during this forum.

Participants at the event toured a large-scale exhibition featuring departments from ministries of health and medical industry, education, and labour and social protection of the country. The exhibition-showcased progress of Turkmenistan in various fields and the successful work carried out by the relevant ministries.

Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, spoke at the forum that followed.

Currently, universal care for children – the most precious asset of our country and every family – has become one of the most important areas of state policy. Noting that the current event is being held jointly with the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Children's Fund of UN (UNICEF) Office in Turkmenistan, O. Atabayeva emphasised that the primary goal of both organizations is to protect health of children, promote their education, and provide adequate social support.

The event, organized on the occasion of World children's day, emphasises the importance of creating a future with a focus on comprehensive support for children, the vice president of the Charitable Foundation continued.

Noting that World children's day is celebrated annually in November, O. Atabayeva emphasised that the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the UN General Assembly demonstrate that the Organisation of United Nations is deeply concerned about the fate of the younger generation.

Supporting the comprehensive development of children in our country is a worthy contribution to a bright future, said O. Atabayeva, noting that supporting the younger generation is the primary goal of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this regard, the consistent support of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, has a positive impact on the advancement of humanistic principles.

Emphasising that collaboration of the Charitable Foundation with national and international organisations takes into account the interests of all children, O. Atabayeva said that event of this year, marking World children's day, consistently promotes every child's right to participate in sports, learn, and develop their abilities. It is worth noting that for children with disabilities, sports helps them gain self-confidence, a joyful outlook, and a boost of energy.

O. Atabayeva, vice president for medical affairs at the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noted that the current event reflects the importance of efforts aimed at the harmonious development of the younger generation, and stated that the promotion of humanitarian initiatives contributes to the creation of a solid foundation for the well-being of children.

The event continued with a speech by the UN Resident coordinator in Turkmenistan, D. Shlapachenko, who expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as Hero-Arkadag and the Turkmen side for ensuring the high level of organisation of the event on the occasion of World children's day.

He also emphasised that issues related to the health of younger generation of Turkmenistan, especially children with disabilities, and the comprehensive protection of their rights are a constant focus of the state. This creates a solid foundation for ensuring their bright future.

UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna noted in her speech that the relationship between Turkmenistan and UNICEF has been active and effective in recent years. As emphasised, Turkmenistan takes an active part in a number of internationally adopted documents on the protection of rights and health of the children.

Participants at the event emphasised the focus of the Turkmen government on supporting children with disabilities. The Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of this work.

Then, at the Tennis complex of Olympic city of the capital, participants watched tennis competitions organised for children with disabilities.

It should be noted that thanks to the initiative of Hero-Arkadag and the efforts of Arkadagly Hero Serdar to popularise the principles of a healthy lifestyle, various sports, including tennis, are becoming increasingly popular in our country.

Sports are very effective in restoring the health of children with disabilities. It is therefore noteworthy that a tennis competition was organised for them as part of event of this year. The drive of the children to win and their enthusiasm left an unforgettable impression on the spectators.

A joyful moment for the children was the presentation of gifts from Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The participants of the event then took a memorable photo with the children who participated in the tennis competition, a moment they will never forget. The children expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag for the care provided at the state level.
