Universities of Turkmenistan and Japan signed Memorandums of mutual understanding

During the working visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan, a substantial package of documents on cooperation in key economic sectors was signed.

Bilateral documents that emphasised the strategic nature of Turkmen-Japanese relations included agreements on cooperation in the field of education.

These included memoranda of understanding signed by Turkmen and Japanese universities, in particular:

Memorandum of mutual understanding between the University of Engineering and technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han and the School of Engineering of Tohoku University;

Memorandum of mutual understanding on student exchange between the University of Engineering and technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han and the School of Engineering of Tohoku University;

Memorandum of mutual understanding between the University of Engineering and technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han and the Graduate school of science and technology of Hirosaki University.

The bilateral documents represent another important step toward developing and strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan in science and education.

To date, the University of Engineering and technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han has already concluded Memorandums of mutual understanding with 10 Japanese educational institutions and companies. These documents provide a solid foundation for expanding scientific and educational cooperation, creating joint programs and interaction in priority areas of higher education of mutual interest, as well as effective work to train highly qualified specialists.
