The commencement of work on the fourth stage of the «Galkynyş» gas field is a clear indication of the flourishing Turkmen-Chinese cooperation

The international scientific and practical conference «Turkmenistan – People's Republic of China: 20 years of strategic partnership in the gas sector» was held in Ashgabat.

Speaking at the forum, deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov noted that the start of work on developing the next, fourth stage of the «Galkynyş» gas field is further clear evidence of the flourishing Turkmen-Chinese cooperation.

«Thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China in the gas industry has been widely developed. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is currently successfully promoting these important initiatives at a high level», − G. Agajanov emphasised.

As the deputy-prime stated, the conclusion of the general Agreement formed the political, economic, and legal foundation of strategic cooperation.

It was particularly emphasised that the Turkmen-Chinese gas pipeline will undoubtedly become a modern embodiment of the Great Silk road, which has historically connected Turkmenistan with China, linking East and West.

«The commencement of work on the development of the next, fourth stage of the «Galkynyş» gas field through the joint efforts of the State concern «Türkmengaz» and the China National Petroleum Corporation («CNPC») is further clear evidence of the flourishing Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in the gas industry. All of this will create a solid foundation for further strengthening mutually beneficial political and economic relations between the two states and developing fundamentally new areas of cooperation», − the speaker added.
