Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Mammedov reported on the preparation of large-scale cultural and social events designed to express high respect for the heroism of his compatriots. Events aimed at preserving historical memory and promoting the ideals of peace and humanism are planned throughout the country.

The celebration program will include scientific and practical conferences dedicated to the peace initiatives of the head of state and the patriotic education of youth, thematic meetings and discussions revealing the heroic pages of the history of war years, song and music celebrations, art exhibitions, and flower-laying ceremonies at the «Halk hakydasy» Memorial complex in the capital and at military glory monuments throughout the country.

Particular emphasis during the meeting was placed on social support for the older generation. Summarising the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that caring for war and labour veterans, who have demonstrated unparalleled courage to the world, is a priority of state policy.

Following the report, the President of Turkmenistan gave the deputy-prime specific instructions on organising ceremonies to present holiday gifts to war veterans and dedicated mothers who worked in the home front. The head of state ordered that this work be carried out at the highest level.
