Meeting held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the United States to Turkmenistan

On 7 August 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the United States of America to Turkmenistan Kristin Hawkins.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of Turkmen-American cooperation and reviewed prospects for further collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

The parties also exchanged views on the priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including the development of educational and sports exchanges, as well as the implementation of joint projects and programmes.

In addition, the interlocutors considered organizational issues related to upcoming joint events. The sides reaffirmed their readiness to maintain regular dialogue and further develop constructive cooperation on a broad range of bilateral and multilateral agenda issues.
