The international photo exhibition and conference “Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Neutrality”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, took place in two sections at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan and the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The organizer and initiator of the photo exhibition was the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.

The opening ceremony of the International Forum, held online, was attended by well-known artists, representatives of public organizations and the media, students, art lovers.

The exhibition presents the work of domestic and foreign photographers on friendship between peoples and the peaceful policy of Turkmenistan. Visitors to the online exhibition got acquainted with the works of foreign participants: Maggie Steber (USA), Bohlen Ulrike (Belgium), Vanmechelen Cohen (Belgium), etc..

“Our exposition tells about the history of the people of Turkmenistan, its rich culture, amazing traditions, as well as achievements of the independence era,” says Jennet Karanova, deputy director of the Museum of Fine Arts. – For the first time, an online photo exhibition will occupy a special place in the history of our country. Numerous photographs introduce visitors to modern Turkmenistan – its unique architecture, picturesque nature and hospitable residents, as well as the culture and life of other countries. Unique works of photographers from around the world, who have managed to reveal the originality of the culture of different nations through the camera’s lens, are exhibited here.”

– The complexity of the profession of a photo artist is in being able to grab from the endless series of moments exactly the one that is special, that will never happen again, and capture it for spectators and connoisseurs of this art form. I’m sure that the International Photo Exhibition and the conference “Turkmenistan is the Homeland of Neutrality” will be able to help our foreign friends and colleagues understand the diversity and beauty of our homeland, and they will introduce the inhabitants of Turkmenistan to those places of the country where they have not been,” summed up Jennet Karanova.

– As a participant in the conference and online exhibition, I can say that there are amazing works by photo artists. You can even see the originals of photos that have become iconic today. Particularly impressive are the work of photographers on the themes of culture and everyday life of our country. And, of course, the development of digital technologies in Turkmenistan plays a huge role here,” said Chinar Garaeva, a student at the Turkmen State School of Culture and Art.

The international photo exhibition and conference “Turkmenistan is the birthplace of Neutrality” created wonderful conditions for the exchange of experience, creative plans of photo artists, as well as successful cultural interaction between different peoples and countries.

At the end of the forum, the ceremony of awarding participants with diplomas and valuable gifts was held.
