TURKMENISTAN WILL PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO CULTURAL AND HUMANITARIAN COOPERATION DURING ITS CHAIRMANSHIP IN ECO

At the 14th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov voiced the intention of the country to work on the development of cultural and humanitarian ties in the framework of its chairmanship in ECO. 

“As the chair of ECO, Turkmenistan aims to actively support the expansion of relations in the area of culture, sport, education, youth policy, tourism, and follow the commonness of moral values that unite our people and countries by the bonds of friendship and brotherhood,” said the President.  He proposed to pay special attention to cooperation in the field of science and medicine, exchange of experience and knowledge on countering the coronavirus pandemic. 

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also confirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan to the work on further socio-economic reestablishment of neighboring Afghanistan.
