ACTIVE WORK IS UNDERWAY TO CARE FOR THE SILKWORM

Silk growers of the Lebap velayat plan to produce 1010 tons of silk cocoon this year. This is about 50 percent of the 2300 tons of cocoon produced throughout the country. In this regard, it should be noted that the silkworm breeders of the Khalach etrap pledged to produce 200 tons, Charjev etrap 173 tons, Danes etrap 140 tons and Sayat etrap 132 tons of valuable raw materials. For this purpose, appropriate preparatory work was carried out in all etraps of the eastern region. At present, contracts have been signed with more than 23,000 shekovods and 25,250 boxes of gren have been distributed. Now the cocoons have gone into the third, and in some farms even into the fourth stage of hibernation. In all etraps of the velayat, receiving and drying workshops for cocoons are ready.

The annual planting of mulberry trees and year-round care of the existing ones makes it possible to provide the silkworm with enough food. Also, specialists of the production association “Lebapwelaýatýüpek” on the ground give valuable advice to silkworm farmers on caring for cocoons in accordance with agricultural standards, which gives positive results. The high organizational level of work allows us to say with confidence that the silkworm breeders of the velayat will achieve their goal.
