The film «Composer» was awarded the Open Eurasian film award «Diamond butterfly»
On the 27th of November, the first ceremony of the Open Eurasian film award «Diamond butterfly» took place in Moscow, at the «Workshop «12» of Russian director Nikita Mihalkov. The significant event brought together representatives of the film community from 17 countries, who submitted 34 films to the competition.
Based on the results of an expert evaluation, the feature film «Composer», filmed in Turkmenistan, was recognised as the best in the «Best artist» category.
The award, crafted from a high-quality 5-carat yakut diamond worth 250 thousand USA dollars was presented to production designer Meylis Hudayberenov. This high recognition of the work of filmmakers serves as inspiration for their continued work and expanded contribution to the development of Turkmenistan's cultural heritage.

The film «Composer», produced with the support of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, premiered in Turkmenistan in 2024 to mark the third anniversary of foundation. An extensive film crew, led by director Maksat Gylyjov, contributed to the production. The film was warmly received by audiences and received numerous positive reviews.
In total, the «Diamond butterfly» film awards ceremony honoured winners in twelve categories. The winners include outstanding filmmakers from Russia, China, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan and other countries. The main prize in the «Best film» category was awarded to the Chinese film «Against the current», directed by Xu Zheng.
According to the organisers, from 28th of November to 7th of December, the Open Eurasian film awards will feature screenings of participating films in twelve Russian cities, including major cultural centres such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, and Novosibirsk. Screenings are also planned in India and the Republic of Belarus. This initiative will offer audiences the opportunity to experience a wide range of cinematic works reflecting the diversity and richness of global cinema.
