From 15th to 16th of April, the International scientific and practical conference «Modern scientific research in the study of historical and cultural heritage: sustainable development of peoples and cultures» was held online at Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.
The international forum was attended by representatives of 40 higher education institutions and research centers from Turkmenistan and 15 foreign countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Italy, China, Armenia, Rwanda, Namibia, Tanzania, and Myanmar.

During the opening ceremony and plenary session of the international conference, it was emphasised that in recent years, thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, scientific and educational cooperation between neutral Turkmenistan and countries around the world has been steadily developing.
A solid foundation for effective international cooperation is the extensive work carried out by Turkmenistan to improve and modernise science and education, as well as to study, preserve, and popularise cultural heritage.
Turkmen and foreign scientists, professors, and teachers who spoke at the conference spoke in detail about modern scientific research conducted in the field of historical and cultural heritage studies at the universities and research and educational centers they represent.
On the 16th of April, the international scientific and practical conference continued in three sections: «Turkmenistan – UNESCO: the role of international cooperation in protecting national and world cultural heritage», «The modern development of cultural and humanitarian ties between peoples», and «Improving the methodology of studying and teaching historical and cultural heritage».

At the conclusion of the conference, participants expressed deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for creating ample opportunities for holding such high-level events, and for the efforts made to continually expand international cooperation in the fields of science, education, and research into the study of historical and cultural heritage, as well as for building and strengthening peaceful, friendly, and trusting relations between Turkmenistan and the countries of the world.
