National Leader of the Turkmen people: TAPI will provide energy to a region with a population of about 2 billion people

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke at a general lesson at the «Ruhyýet» Palace in the city of Arkadag. In his speech to youth representatives, Hero-Arkadag touched upon energy strategy of the country and the implementation of major regional infrastructure projects.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that the key factor for successful cooperation on the continent is the use of the energy potential of states, taking into account the interests of producers, consumers, and transit countries. The strategy of Turkmenistan is based on diversifying supply routes and ensuring equal access to energy resources.

Hero-Arkadag particularly emphasised the importance of the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which will, in the long term, provide energy to a region with a population of approximately 2 billion people and create more than 12 thousand jobs in Afghanistan alone. Hero-Arkadag also emphasised that our country has the necessary capacity to increase electricity supplies as part of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan project.
