Construction of the first phase of circular energy system, which will connect electrical networks of Ahal, Balkan and Dashoguz and provide reliable provision of energy of the regions, is accelerated. 420-km route of 220 KV power line between Gurtly and Serdar power stations is divided between contractor organizations into sections, at which installation of concrete foundations of future power line in under construction. General contractor of the construction, Turkmenenergogurlushyk Concern has involved the divisions of Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Lebap and Balkan construction organizations, entrepreneurs as well as divisions of the State Energy Corporation Turkmen Energy to the construction of the power line. Foundations of the power line are made at profile ferro concrete plant located in Byuzmeyin district of Ashgabat.

Contractor organizations have already installed all foundations on the first part of the energy system, on which 500 metal pillars for 200 KV for the power line have been installed. Construction personnel has also accomplished the installation of concrete foundations and more than 350 metal construction for the power line at the second part from Serdar to Balkanabat power stations.

Energy sphere personnel plan to complete the installation of 1,426 pillars, which are required for construction of the first phase of circular network and construction of Serdar 220, Kyzylarvat 110 and Balkanabat 500 substations by August. In addition, the project provides the installation of power transformation units, breakers, relay protection, telemechanical system, communication and SCADA equipment, which is made by Turkish, Kazakh and Indian companies according to European standards.

576-km 500 KV power line will be bult at the second phase of construction of circular system from Balkanabat to Dashoguz.

Asian Development Bank has granted beneficial credit for implementation of promising project. Using these resources, the general contractor of the project, the State Energy Corporation Turkmenenergo have signed the contracts and procured equipment required for construction of power lines and substations. At present time, construction and auxiliary equipment are used for construction of the power line.

Completion of construction of circular energy system of Turkmenistan is planned in 2023. Implementation of this large-scale project, which was approved by the President of Turkmenistan, is aimed at increment of energy production, improvement of quality of energy provision and social and living conditions of the population, significant enhancement of export potential of the industry. Circular structure will give the opportunity to reserve the energy of the regions and Ashgabat. Having permanent reserve, the personnel of the industry will be able to make maintenance and modernization of units, substations and power lines without any harm to consumers.
