Each type of green tea is a unique taste and a storehouse of beneficial properties. Studies show that this drink contains substances that protect the human body from cancer; in particular, this concerns skin, stomach, lung and breast cancers.

In Asia, no meal is complete without a tea ceremony, for which green tea is traditionally chosen. According to doctors, this drink improves digestion and helps not to gain extra pounds, removing toxins from the body, and the beneficial antioxidants of green tea slow down skin aging.

Natural and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan contributed to the fact that tea became a “drink of the soul” for the Turkmen people, and the tea-drinking ceremony became an occasion for a friendly conversation.

The Turkmen could not do without their favorite drink even on the fronts of the First and Second World Wars. For example, the riders of the Tekin Horse Regiment constantly received parcels with green tea from their homeland. Here is one of the letters from the front in February 1916 to the address of the Ladies' Committee: "The Turkmen Cavalry Regiment expresses deep gratitude to the Committee for the generous gifts delivered to the regiment." The gifts consisted of thirty-two kilograms of green tea and thirty kilograms of sugar.

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also dedicated his book "Tea - Medicine and Inspiration" to tea and its beneficial properties. The work contains comprehensive information about why tea takes a special place in the life of the Turkmen.
