The trade and economic issues were discussed at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia

On June 21, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov met with the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia Andranik Aleksanyan and Vice President of the Chamber Karen Ivanov.
During the meeting, issues of developing trade and economic relations between the two friendly states were discussed. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia attached importance to transport and logistics issues, namely, the use of the transport and transit potential of Turkmenistan by Armenian cargo carriers.
During the meeting, the issues of participation of Armenian businessmen in various international economic forums and exhibitions held in Turkmenistan were discussed also. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia proposed the creation of joint Armenian-Turkmen enterprises to build closer cooperation.
Then Ambassador Ayazov told the interlocutors about the newly built city of Arkadag, and added that as a part of the implementation of the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052, further improving the living standards of the population and developing industry in the regions, service and production facilities will be built in the city if Arkadag for production of medicines and medical products, as well as food and industrial products.
Ambassador Ayazov also added that it is expected that international tenders will be held on this occasion to select contractors for the constructions of enterprises.
