Photo exhibition dedicated to the Year 2024 - Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi opened in Yerevan.

On 13 th February 2024 the opening ceremony of the Photo Exhibition dedicated to the motto of the year 2024 - «Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi» as well as the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi took place in Yerevan. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia and the Union of Artists of Armenia.

Artists and cultural figures, representatives of scientific and educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Armenia attended the exhibition.

Exhibition was attended also by the representatives of Armenian mass media – Armenpress, ArmInfo and TV Channel MIR24.

Suren Safaryan, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Armenia, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov informed the participants that Turkmenistan has announced the motto of the year 2024 «Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi» dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen classic poet.

It was noted that the great poet, philosopher and thinker Magtymguly Fragi has left us an immortal literary heritage which has become an integral part of world literature and culture, an invaluable heritage of all humanity.

Fragi's wisdom is a song of unity, a call for peace, friendship and brotherhood, a school of patriotism. With his poems Magtymguly calls on all generations of humanity to unity, brotherhood, reverence for national customs, traditions and spiritual values, calls to be humane, patriotic, honest and fair.

It is noteworthy that the works of Magtymguly Fragi were translated into Armenian and published in 1959, 1983 and 2014.

Ambassador M. Ayazov noted that among the guests was the poet-translator Varuzhan Khastur, the author of brilliant translations from Magtymguly’s original works and asked Khastur to recite one of his translations.

The exhibition will run until 14 February 2024.
