On 25 April 2024, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov delivered a lecture for students of the Faculty of International Relations of the Russian-Armenian University regarding the foreign policy of Turkmenistan.

During the lecture, Ambassador M. Ayazov talked about the conceptual foundations of the current foreign doctrine of Turkmenistan, and also spoke about the jubilee year - the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi, and the motto of the year 2024 "Fount of Wisdom – Magtymguly Fragi".
M. Ayazov emphasized that today's foreign policy can be safely characterized as a manifestation of the high ideals that Magtymguly preached in his time.

It was especially interesting for future diplomats to learn that Magtymguly was also an outstanding diplomat, as the foreign policy of today's Turkmenistan is a continuation of the ideas of the great poet and philosopher, his ideas about the world and the role of the Turkmen people in it.

The lecture was accompanied by an interesting and visual presentation. The ambassador also mentioned the deep-rooted Turkmen-Armenian cultural-literary ties, and also informed that the works of Armenian writers and poets, as well as articles by Armenian authors translated into the Turkmen language, are periodically published in the printed editions of Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador drew the attention of the students that the books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were translated into the Armenian language. In particular, based on the book of the National Leader “Spiritual World of Turkmens”, the Ambassador expressed the opinion that the friendly relations of the Turkmen people with the peoples of the world, the tendency to provide assistance to each other are of great importance and it contains many principles and foundations that guide our state.

At the end of the lecture, RAU students recited Magtymguly’s verses translated into Armenian by the poet-translator Varuzhan Hastur.
