held a conference “Studying the heritage of Magtymguly Fragi in Armenia”

On 7 June 2024 Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and Yerevan State University held a conference “Studying the heritage of Magtymguly Fragi in Armenia” dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet.

The conference was attended by teachers, professors and students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and Yerevan State University, diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia. The head of the Department of Science of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, candidate of historical sciences Myrat Hojagulyev, delivered a welcoming speech, and the attache of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia Amantach Jumanazarova made opening remarks.

During the conference the Head of the Department of Turkmen literature of the the Magtymguly Turkmen State University Amannepes Shikhnepesov, the Head of the Department of the Turkmen Language Gulruh Gurbanova, the associate professor of the Department of Foreign Literature Romanguly Mustagov, also the teacher of this department Maral Atayeva, Head of the Department of Turkic Langulages of Yerevan State University, candidate of historical sciences, professor Alexander Safaryan and senior lecturer of this department Amalia Agadzhanyan delivered speeches.

At the conference Turkmen-Armenian cultural and humanitarian relations, the philosophy of universal human values ​​of Magtymguly Fragi, literary ties between the two peoples, the similarity of the works of Magtymguly Fragi and the Armenian poet Sayat-Nova were widely discussed.

During the meeting, the further development of cooperation in the field of science and education between the two countries was discussed. The participants agreed to prepare and publish joint scientific articles by Turkmenistan and Armenian scientists.
