The event was organized by the Central Council of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan and the Business Women’s Center under the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the conference emphasized the special significance of women’s achievements in various areas of the private sector. They also noted that the Business Women’s Center under the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan currently aims to support hardworking and talented women and help them find their rightful place in life.
The center’s efforts are greatly important in providing direct support to the majority of women entrepreneurs in continuing their activities, serving as an example of the consistent continuation of mentoring traditions. The speeches also highlighted the importance of carpets woven from pure wool and silk, modern carpet products made by combining ancient methods with modern technologies, palas, kilims, various types of souvenirs crafted by skilled craftswomen, unique samples of decorative and applied arts, as well as the export of carpet products. Women entrepreneurs involved in jewelry art and jewelry making spoke about how their craft is passed down from generation to generation.
Their creations and patterns reflect the history of the past, national characteristics, the spiritual world, and the creative abilities of the people. Especially beautiful are the national jewelry pieces created by the craftswomen, such as the bracelet “Bilezik,” the brooch “Gulyaka,” and pendants “Shelpe,” “Gupba,” and “Khunji.”
