Conference dedicated to the First Caspian Economic Forum

On 13 May 2019, at 02:00 p.m., Embassy of Turkmenistan jointly with the Yerevan State University held the conference titled Caspian Sea - Sea of ​​Opportunities” at the Yerevan State University. This initiative is dedicated to the First Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on 12 August 2019 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenbashi city.

The Yerevan Conference has gathered heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations, diplomats accredited in Armenia, two Deputy Ministers of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia, representatives of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economic Development and Investments, Finance of Armenia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia, professors of the Armenian universities and students of Yerevan State University, and other universities of Armenia- citizens of Turkmenistan, as well as business and scientific representatives and media of Armenia.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Caspian littoral states - Ambassador of Turkmenistan M. Ayazov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan T.Urazayev and Deputy Head of the Mission of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Ali Nasser Sobhanipour delivered a speech at the event. The Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia Armen Arzumanyan and the former Ambassador of Armenia to Turkmenistan Aram Grigoryan have made interventions as well during the conference.

It was noted that the agenda of the First Caspian Economic Forum covers a wide range of issues that will later form the basis of promising areas of interaction between the participating States. It is assumed that such topical issues regarding the intensification of trade and economic relations, including the creation of conditions for the development and implementation of large-scale projects, will be proposed for consideration for the exchange of views and constructive discussion. It was noted that the relevance of the International Exhibition of Innovative Technologies of the Caspian States, which will be held on the margins of the Forum on 11-12 August 2019, and is intended to become a center for establishing business contacts and getting acquainted with new technologies, services and solutions in various fields of the economy, including energy sector, transport and logistics, industry, trade, tourism and many other areas.

In addition, at the end of the event, the Embassy organized a buffet table, during which dishes of Turkmen national cuisine were offered to the guests.
