Turkmen soldiers participates in the Victory Parade in Moscow

Military parade in honour of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War was held on the Red Square in Moscow yesterday. The Victory Parade was supposed to be held on May 9 but was postponed due the coronavirus pandemic. June 24 was selected on purpose; this is the date when legendary Parade of Winners, which was commanded by Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky and received by Marshal Georgy Zhukov, took place in Moscow 75 years ago.

“Attention, Moscow speaks and shows. Listen and watch the Red Square. The Victory Parade to mark the 75th anniversary of the Victory in 1941 – 1945 Great Patriotic War!” – the call was voiced around the Red Square. These are the words, from which the parades in honour of the Victory against fascism starts traditionally”, - the message of the TASS notes.

Following the publication, the historical part of the parade was opened by the flag groups. They have carried the standards of ten fronts in front of the tribunes. Soldiers wearing historical military uniforms of ground troops, pilots, marines, engineers, scouts, border guards have marched across the square followed by detachments of people’s militia, Cossacks and resource and technical division. The soldiers were carrying fire arms of the Great Patriotic War times like Simonov’s semi-automatic carbines, Mosin’s rifles, Shpagin’s and Sudayev’s submachine guns…

The parade was received by Defence Minister of Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoigu, it was commanded by the Supreme Commander of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov. Around 14,000 military personnel took part in the parade in general. 13 detachments from various armed forces of the world – military personnel of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kirgiz Republic, China, Moldova, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, have marched in front of the tribunes.

Two “Pobeda” convertibles with the flag of Turkmenistan and combat banner of the 748th Riffle Regiment, 206th Division, 2nd Ukrainian Front, in which Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, used to serve, led the parade detachment of military personnel of this country in the parade.

Historical combat banner was handed over to the President of Turkmenistan by Deputy Defence Minister of Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Fomin during the visit to Turkmenistan on May 9” - the News Agency informs.

The government delegation of Turkmenistan at the vents in honour of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory was represented by Defence Minister of the country, Major General Begench Gundogdiyev.

“Participation of soldiers and officers of National Army in the ceremonial parade raises a feeling of pride of every Turkmenistan citizen for valiant sons of our land who made deserved contribution to the great Victory. Noting this glorious anniversary, we pay tribute to our common heroes, who demonstrated an exemplary bravery and courage in the battlefield of the cruellest war for the sake of peaceful life of future generations”, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted at the session of the Government on June 19.
