THE AMBASSADOR OF TURKMENISTAN TO THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA HAD A MEETING WITH A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

On 10 September 2020, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov had a meeting with the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Head of the Armenia-Turkmenistan Friendship Group Alexander Avetisyan.

Warmly welcoming the member of the Armenian Parliament, Ambassador Ayazov presented the priority positions of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, and added that this year Turkmenistan will widely celebrate the 25th anniversary of the adoption of Neutrality by the UN General Assembly, and also made a small introduction into the Turkmen-Armenian relations over the years of independence.

Alexander Avetisyan, in turn, stated that cooperation between the two friendly countries in the cultural, humanitarian and trade and economic spheres are very active and assured that having all the grounds for establishing active ties between the legislative bodies of the two fraternal countries, it is possible to start work in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the issues of diversified cooperation, the work done by the Embassy in Armenia, the events held timed to the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan. The parties expressed their readiness, as the global pandemic ends, to organize mutual visits of both Heads of Parliaments and member of the Parliament, members of the Friendship Group of the two friendly countries.
