THE RESULTS OF THE II INTERNATIONAL PHOTO CONTEST «FERULA 2021» WERE ANNOUNCED

Ashgabat photo club Ferula held the 2nd International photo contest under patronage of FIAP (фр. Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) — the International federation of photographic art recognized by UNESCO, consisted of the national photo federations of different countries. At present, the organization has more than 85 national associations, located in five continents.) and PSA (Photographic Society of America)- Photographic Society of America.

An assistance in the preparing and holding of such large-scaled event provided an International photo club IS, which assist in organization of the photo contests in the post-Soviet space, and other countries (reception and registration of the participants and their works, order and decoration of medals, choose of jury and providing program of online judging under pandemic conditions).

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, it was announced about the start of Reception of photo works for the II International photo contest.

There were four nominations for works – Free Colour photo, Free Black and White photo, Emotions and World’s cities. For each category there were established gold, silver, bronze medals of FIAP, PSA, IS and photo club Ferula, as well as the scrolls of honour and 12 special gold medals by jury’s choice – each member of jury could give an award to the liked work independent of opinion of other members of jury. And top prize – FIAP Blue pin for the best author of works in all nominations.

As in the 1st photo contest, an applications level was high, that made the contest both увлекательным and complicated for jury. In the 2nd contest took part 297 participants, that is a little less than in the first one -314. But number of countries increased, if in the first contest participated 38, in the second one - 56 countries. The works were received from Austria, Vietnam, Belgium, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Turkey, USA …, totally from 56 countries 4252 works were received. 12 applications 128 works were submitted form Turkmenistan. 8 our authors reached the final part, where they won 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal and 1 scroll of honour of IS. The photo contest was judged by the jury – the highly qualified photographers with long-term experience, who have the distinction Excellence FIAP (EFIAP): S. Anisimov (Russia), V. Sarkisyan (Turkmenistan), V. Korenchuk (Kazakhstan). В связи с пандемией, the jury’s members judged the photo works on the online basis: form Moscow, Ashgabat and Alma-Ata.

The works were assessed in four nominations – Free Colour photo, Free Black and White photo, Emotions and World’s cities. During 3 days 4252 were assessed and top 100 best works were selected in each nomination, to 18 of which in each section were given awards of FIAP, PSA, IS. From Ashgabat’s phot club Ferula were awarded also 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.

And so now, in the run-up of the Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan the results of the II International photo contest "Ferula 2021» were announced. We are glad to congratulate Hau Son Nguen, a photographer from Vietnam, who was recognized as “The best author” of the photo contest with 14 recognitions (14 photo in 4 nominations were received and 2 awards were given) and he got the FIAP Blue pin! FIAP gold medals were awarded to the photographers form Singapore, Czechia, Russia, India. The gold medals of Ferula clus were awarded to the photographers from Belorussia, Georgia, Hing Kong, and Czechia. Our three authors have got following awards: Mekan Abdulayev -silver medal of IS, Svetlana Krupskaya – bronze medal of Ferula, Begench Shihliyev – scroll of honour of IS. All our participants - М. Amanmamedov, M. Abdulayev, B. Berdyev, N. Vavilov, M. Karahanova, S. Krupskaya, B. Shihliyev and E. Yazov were good. Of special not is M. Abdulayev, whose 7 works were receipted for exposition (for reference, from 4252 works submitted for contest, 618 were receipted.)

In 2021 the works of the photo club Ferula have already participated in the international exhibitions in China, Austria, UAE, Russia, USA. For the first time, at the 15th World championship of FIAP among the clubs, the Turkmen photo professionals and photo artists, the members of the “Ferula” team, adequately presented Turkmenistan at the 15th FIAP World Cup for Clubs. In total, 232 teams took part in the tournament. The representatives of Turkmenistan, that newly debuted in this world championship, scored 305 points, that allowed to take place in the middle of standings. For the first participation in such a prestigious contest – very commendable result. This year, the photo club Ferula received an invitation to take part in 2022 in the 16th FIAP World Cup for Clubs, let’s wish them luck in this grandiose photo contest, where will be presented all world’s countries. After improvement of the epidemiologic situation in the world, the photo club Ferula will organize the photo exhibition of the works on results of two contests for a wide range of photo art lovers.
