CONTINUING TRADITIONS IN BEAUTY

Production for more than four million manat have weaved for today craftswomen of the Dashoguz enterprise of carpet weaving of the State Association “Turkmenhaly”. The stuff of one of the oldest enterprises of the north region of the country completes with dignity the labour year, which was marked with many significant events. Among them are putting into operation of the new modern carper weaving enterprise in Gubadag strap, designed for 150 jobs, participation in creation of the carpet decoration of the building «Türkmeniň ak öýi» in a shape of the giant white yurta and intended for holding the mass events of national and international level, holiday performances and others.

Today the Dashoguz carpet weavers, continuing the tradition of the national carpet weaving, carefully restore the old stylization, including ancient ornaments inherent in the area. Thus, among their works are the high-quality carpets with ancient Turkmen ornaments «Togrul ýol», which is also known as «Gumly göli», with pattern «Ak maýanyň ýoly», ornaments «Derweze göli», «Guşly göli» and others. Besides, the craftswomen, with an inherent creative mind, try to increase the creative value of their carpet using the new technique and expanding the color range. Strictly following the traditional technique of carpet and carpet items making, they endeavor to enrich the classic art using the new forms and means of the artistic realization, combining the patterns in different ways to create different, but consistently harmonious and graceful carpet colors.
