THE GDP GROWTH RATE OF TURKMENISTAN FOR THE FIRST MONTH OF 2022 EXCEEDED 6%

The growth rate of the gross domestic product of Turkmenistan in January 2022 amounted to 6.2 percent. This was announced by Vice Prime for Economic Affairs Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting via video link.

He noted that for the reporting month, GDP growth amounted to 6.2 percent, including in industry - 7.4, construction – 0.3, transport and communications sector - 4, trade - 8.8, agriculture - 3.2 and the service sector - 6.1 percent.

According to the Vice Prime, the volume of retail trade turnover increased by 9.9 percent compared to the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover - by 6.3 percent. He also emphasized that in large and medium enterprises, the average monthly salary is 10.4 percent higher compared to the same period last year.

Having listened to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the priority tasks for the development of the country, the successful implementation of which will ensure the progressive growth of all sectors of the national economy in the short and medium term perspective.
