OLIVES – A CURE FOR A THOUSAND AILMENTS

Member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, businessman Tangryberdy Dzhepbarov grows olives in a plot near the village of Sharlavuk, Etrek etrap, Balkan velayat.
Currently, the area where 1,700 trees grow is about seven hectares. This autumn, 1200 olive trees are planned to be harvested. The plantation will be expanded in the future.
Drought-resistant olives do not lose their green color in all seasons. Its fruits and the oil obtained from the fruits are very beneficial for the human body. 25 types of olive fruits are used in production.
Grown in the subtropical climate of Etrek, these trees bear fruit 40-45 days earlier than in other countries and have 10-15 percent more oil. Olives are useful for the prevention of diseases of the cardiovascular system.
According to scientists, the oblong fruits of the olive contain about 70 percent of the oil. Olive oil differs from all other vegetable oils in its nutritional qualities. First of all, it normalizes metabolic processes in the body. These amazing fruits are also noted in the scientific and encyclopedic work of the President of Turkmenistan “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan”.
Olive oil is used in the medical, textile, food and perfume industries, as well as in the manufacture of soaps, varnishes and paints. According to some reports, olive trees live up to 700-1200 years, and according to other sources, up to 2000-2500 years, and at the same time, surprisingly, they bear fruit.
