PROCESSING OF SNOW-WHITE COCOONS IS STARTED

Personnel of Turkmenabat Silk Production Association, which has more than 90 years of experience in processing of snow-white silk raw material, has stated the processing of cocoons of new harvest. Automatic cocoon-spinning lines have been adjusted and prepared for uninterrupted and effective work for long months of processing of elastic cocoons, which are supplied by silkworm producers of the Amudarya Valley.

Having exceeded the government order on production of cocoons, silkworm producers of Lebap Region have marked the year under slogan “Turkmenistan – Home of Peace and Trust” with excellent work results. More than 1,013 tons of cocoons have been delivered to reception facilities, which makes around half of total amount of valuable raw materials produced in the country. Silkworm producers of Charjew, Dyanew, Hojambaz, Kerky and other districts have made a significant input to the production.

Personnel of the Association will provide qualitative processing of expensive material ad production of light, elastic silk yarn, which is one high demand in local and foreign markets. Part of the yarn is used to make qualitative silk fabrics and silk carpets at the same facility. Wide variety of cotton fabrics produced by the Association is also on high demand in the market. Comparing with the last year, the rates of their production has increased by 20 percent in January – May this year.
