The official reception dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan

On November 11, 2016 the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia held an official reception dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan in the House of Receptions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Armenia, as well as friends of the Embassy, businessmen, artists, scientists, representatives of civil society, NGOs, journalists, representatives of mass media and students.

In his welcoming note the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia M.Mashalov emphasized, that the 25th anniversary of its independence the country meets with a pride for the great achievements in politics, economy, social sphere, science, culture and sport. He also marked, that under the leadership of the Head of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the motto of the Turkmen state is chosen “The state for the individual” and comprehensive reforms are being implemented in all spheres of life according to it.

The attention of the guests was also drawn to the UN Global Conference on the sustainable transport convened by the UN Secretary-General, which will be held in Ashgabat on 26-27 November 2016.

Warmly congratulating the guests of the official reception on the jubilee date, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Robert Harutyunyan marked, that Armenia and Turkmenistan are tied with each other with a genuine centuries-old friendship and strategic partnership, and noted the constructive and consistent, as well as the successful cooperation of the two states on the international arena makes significant contribution to the consolidation of peace, stability and security at the global and regional levels. The successful development of the bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was also emphasized during the speech. The Armenian diplomat gave a high evaluation to the foreign policy of Turkmenistan that is based on the status of permanent neutrality, peace and good neighborliness.

Guests of the official reception were treated by national dishes from the Turkmen dastarkhan.
